The design of February 1994 follows the generic mixing of late 1980s/ early 1990s style that is popular in contemporary “90’s retro” themes.

This month’s cover is more minimalist, focusing on the photo of then-planet Pluto and it’s moon. Center stage in the photo is a small easter egg: the spaceship Babylon 5 itself. To the right of Pluto’s photo, we can see the February ‘94 cover of The Weekly World News, a checkout magazine rack tabloid that was famous in the 90’s for it’s bizarre, satirical(?) stories.

The weeks of February are occupied by actor Jim Carrey in his role as Ace Ventura, a hugely popular character who was copied and quoted ad-nauseum by school students for weeks, especially the cinematic classic “ass talking” scene.
